Notes: Formerly the questgiver for the two parts of the original Temple of Elemental Evil, Alatra was made redundant in Update 56 when the quests were split up and new NPCs introduced to bestow them. Prior to U46, this NPC was located in the Hall of Heroes

The Gatekeepers and the Temple - Heroic

If you try to talk to her while at level 4^{[Unverified"4" has not been verified in-game. Please verify it!]} or lower, she will reply:

• Alatra the Gatekeeper: ????????????????

Scout the Temple of Elemental Evil - Heroic

If you are at level 5^{[Unverified"5" has not been verified in-game. Please verify it!]} or higher, however, she will reply:

• Alatra the Gatekeeper: Well met, friend! Do you seek adventure? Treasure? Do you want to protect Eberron from a threat from beyond?
• Alatra the Gatekeeper: Then help us - help the Gatekeepers find the Mysterious Remnants that have suddenly appeared in our world. If they fall into the wrong hands they could spell ruin for us all!
• Alatra the Gatekeeper: We have found a very high concentration of these Remnants, and we need brave souls willing to help us retrieve them.
• You: I just can't say no to adventure and treasure. Where are these Remnants you need?
• Alatra the Gatekeeper: These Remnants share an affinity - you might say they call out to one another. We have been able to use this property to construct a portal to a place where we have detected an unusually large number of the Remnants.
• Alatra the Gatekeeper: But this place - it is called The Temple of Elemental Evil - is quite dangerous. Rather than put our research at risk, it seems wiser to send someone used to running risks ... someone like yourself.
  • You: What can I do to help? (Bestow chain)
    • Alatra the Gatekeeper: Use the portal to travel to The Temple of Elemental Evil, confront the forces you find there, and collect any remnants you find. Once you have scouted the temple, return to me and we shall consider your next move.
      • You: Use the portal to travel to the Temple. Got it. (Walk away)
      • You: So where is this Temple of Elemental Evil - some other plane?
        • Alatra the Gatekeeper: Another plane? No ... it is on our plane. But we've learned that this Temple is far away - very far indeed. So far, in fact, that it seems impossible for it to be on Eberron ... But we do not have time to speculate about such things. We need to collect those Mysterious Remnants!
  • You: Where do these Mysterious Remnants come from?
    • Alatra the Gatekeeper: We cannot say for certain, though we have been able to determine that they are not from this plane. The Remnants possess dangerous mystic powers ... perhaps they are the remains of some great magical catastrophe?
    • Alatra the Gatekeeper: We must collect as many Remnants as we can, so that we may study their powers and keep them out of the hand of those who wish Eberron ill.
      • You: Interesting. What's involved? (See above)
  • You: Sorry, I'm not interested. (Walk away)

Talking to her after acquiring the quest, but before completing any part, will make her say:

• Alatra the Gatekeeper: Use the portal to travel to The Temple of Elemental Evil, confront the forces you find there, and collect any remnants you find. Once you have scouted the temple, return to me and we shall consider your next move.
  • You: Use the portal to travel to the Temple. Got it. (Walk away)
  • You: So where is this Temple of Elemental Evil - some other plane? (See above)

On completion of part one, she will tell you the following:

• Alatra the Gatekeeper: You're back! So the portal we made does work both ways ... fascinating.
• Alatra the Gatekeeper: And what's this you've found? A page from some gigantic book?
• Alatra the Gatekeeper: Clearly this page is imbued with great magical properties. Perhaps it's related to the Mysterious Remnants somehow?
• Alatra the Gatekeeper: We must learn more about this!
• You: What's the next step? (Advance chain)

Conquer the Temple of Elemental Evil - Heroic

She will immediately assign you the following objective:

• Alatra the Gatekeeper: Return to The Temple of Elemental Evil and scour it for the other page. Make sure that no evil thing can use it against us! Then return to me, and you shall be rewarded.
  • You: Very well, I'll head back to the temple.
  • You: So where is this Temple of Elemental Evil - some other plane? (See above)

On completion of part two, she will congratulate you with the following:

• Alatra the Gatekeeper: You are victorious, <name>! By defeating Zuggtmoy not only have you helped the lands around the Temple, but you have helped keep these Mysterious Remnants out of the hands of a powerful evil being.
• Alatra the Gatekeeper: We shall investigate the magical pages you brought to us. If they are what we suspect, the implications are staggering!
• You: Let's hope that's the last we hear of Zuggtmoy.
• Alatra the Gatekeeper: No doubt you found plenty of treasure on your adventure, but I'm sure you will not object to a bit more. Please, take this.

After completing the quest and taking the reward, if you talk to her again, she will reply:

• Alatra the Gatekeeper: <name>! I've been hoping to speak with you. We've detected more Mysterious Remnants in the Temple of Elemental Evil. Will you retrieve them for us?
