Description: Bruku is an elder of the Grey Moon Clan of Ogres. He and Hragg were sent into exile when Lord Grust usurped leadership of the clan. Bruku gives you the background information and all of the missions in the Grey Moon Waning quest arc and initiates The Cult of the Six arc.

Talking to him while you don't have the Grey Moon Waning chain, will make him say:

• Bruku: The ogre elder glowers at you, his gazer dark, then looks away. You are clearly beneath his notice.

The Iron Mines: Freeing Achka

After talking to Kurvic the Hound, when you talk to him, he will say:

• Bruku: Stop there! You come closer, Bruku split your head open, feed your brains to crows!
  • You: Easy now. I'm a friend.
    • Bruku: Friend? Phah! Not many men call themselves friends to ogre-kin. Come with swords and fire, try to drive Grey Moon tribe off island. Been so since my longfathers' time, a dragon's age ago. Why should Bruku trust you?
      • You: Because Kurvic the Hound sent me.
        • Bruku: Kurvic ... ah! Yes, Bruku remember. Hurt something bad, that one ... wounds nearly kill him. But Bruku find him, and help heal. Ogre-kin should not be jackals, to let men die in pain. We are better than that. But why Kurvic send you?
          • You: He told me there was trouble among your people.
            • Bruku: Bad trouble. Old Hragg was chief, but trolls drove us from our caves. Hragg lead Grey Moon to new caves, other side of island ... but ogre-kin were not happy. His sister-son Grust overthrew him, drove Bruku out. Is dark time for tribe.
            • You: I will help you fight Grust.
            • Bruku: Not yet. Grust is keeping chief's son, Achka, as hostage. Go to tribe's new cave. Is west of here, on uphill side. Grust is out hunting on far side of island—he not trouble you. You find Achka in prison, free him. Then come back here, and we plain next step. (Advance chain)
          • You: To bring your chief back to power. (See below: "You'll trust me if you want your tribe back")
      • You: You'll trust me if you want your tribe back.
        • Bruku: You come to help Grey Moon? Bruku stares at you, his eyes glittering. Yes, Bruku knows you now. Spirits of ancestors come in dream, tell of one who come from across water, defeat Grust. Bruku think spirits mean Kurvic, but no ... it clear now. They mean you.
          • You: Who is Grust?
            • Bruku: Grust is usurper of Grey Moon, sister-son of Lord Hragg. He take over tribe after trolls drive us from caves. Drove out Bruku for speaking against him. Bruku lip curls with disgust. He like snake living under rock, that one.
            • You: The traitor deserves death.
            • Bruku: Not yet. Grust is keeping chief's son, Achka, as hostage. Go to tribe's new cave. Is west of here, on uphill side. Grust is out hunting on far side of island—he not trouble you. You find Achka in prison, free him. Then come back here, and we plain next step. (Advance chain)
          • You: What has happened to Grey Moon? (See above: "He told me there was trouble among your people.")
  • You: Be silent, brute! Or you'll be the one with the broken skull!
    • Bruku: Hah! You talk like Lord Hragg, Grey Moon's clan-chief. He like wolverine, never back away from battle. But Bruku is wise, he see you not want to fight. Least not here, not now. Who sent you to Sorrowdusk?
      • You: Kurvic the Hound. He said to find you. (see above)
      • You: If you want Hragg as your chief again, you'll help me. (See above: "You'll trust me if you want your tribe back")

Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:

• Bruku: What! Achka not free yet? You go to tribe's new cave, free Achka! Then come back here, not before!

The Iron Mines: Justice for Grust

After you complete Freeing Achka, he will reply:

• Bruku: Bruku hear from Lord Hragg. He grateful you free Achka, but ogre-kin stay loyal to Grust. He got them scared to follow true chief.
  • You: What more can I do?
    • Bruku: Grust back from hunting now. You go back to caves and kill him. Hragg take tribe back then. When grust dead, you come back to Bruku ... we drink palm-beer to celebrate! (Advance quest)
  • You: They'll stop following the dog if he's dead.
    • Bruku: ????????????????

Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:

• Bruku: You got something in your ear? Bruku tell you already ... next thing, kill Grust. When done, come back here. Not before!

The Grey Moon's Den: The Trollish Scourge

After you complete Justice for Grust, he will reply:

• Bruku: Is it done? Did you kill Grust?
  • You: Yes, he's dead. But there's something more.
    • Bruku: What more? What else happen?
    • You: There were trolls in the caves too. They were with Grust. Why?
    • Bruku: Trolls? Bruku blinks, then his mouth drops open. It make sense now, yes. Grust make bargain with trolls—they get Grey Moon's ancestral caves, he get tribe. the snake! Death was too good for him!
      • You: Now that he's gone, they'll come for what's left of your tribe.
        • Bruku: Bruku know. Only one thing to do now. You go to Grey Moon's old caves, on east side of island. Finish trolls before they know what happen. Kill them all, leave none alive! And if any ogre-kin there, kill them too, the traitors! Then come back and tell me. (Advance quest)
      • You: We must take the fight to them, before they recover.
        • Bruku: ?????????????
  • You: Of course. Now you'd better tell me the truth. Why were there trolls with him?
    • Bruku: ??????????????

Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:

• Bruku: Trolls still in Grey Moon's ancestor-caves! Go to east side of island! Not waste Bruku's time!

The Grey Moon's Den: Extermination

After you complete The Trollish Scourge, he will reply:

• Bruku: Bruku smell troll-blood on you. You done at caves?
• You: Your people are avenged. The trolls are howling in Dolurrh now.
• Bruku: No, not all. More in deep holes, beneath ancestor-caves. Spirits show Bruku, in dream! They keep breeding, send more to take caves back, unless you kill them too! Now go finish what you start! Back to ancestor caves, but go deeper this time! (Advance chain)

Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:

• Bruku: Gaaaarh! You still not done with trolls! Go back and clear out deepest caves at ancestor-caves.

After you complete Extermination, he will finally reward you:

• Bruku: Bruku grins, showing off a mouthful of yellow tusks. Har! Last of trolls gone from Grey Moon's caves ... tribe can move back to good side of island now! You do good for ogre-kin!
• You: It wasn't just trolls, though. There were others. Dark clerics.
• Bruku: Dark clerics? Broken stones! As I fear—cult of the Dark Six return to Sorrowdusk.
• You: Then there's still more to be done, isn't there?
• Bruku: True. More to be done, aye, but Grey Moon have old power back now. That a victory, at least. You choose reward from Grey Moon treasure horde—it yours by right of battle! Then talk to Bruku again and we speak of what comes next.

Cult of the Six

After you concludes Grey Moon Waning, Bruku will give you another mission:

• Bruku: Now time has come to see what cultists up to. Go to temple outpost... follow path past ancestral caves, up towards hilltop. They surely keeping some ogres as slaves. Free slaves, then find Lord Hragg. He will be up on hilltop too. He tell you what to do next!
• You: Very well. I will free the slaves and report their liberation to Hragg. (Bestow chain)

The Temple Outpost: Captives of the Cult

Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:

• Bruku: Bruku see visions of ogre-kin in fire-smoke at night. Ogre-kin slaves, kept by dark clerics! Go to outpost! Free Bruku's people from evil men!

Talking to him after completing the quest, but before reporting to Hraag, will make him say:

• Bruku: Ogre slaves free now. Bruku hear already. Now you find Lord Hraag, up on hilltop. He tell you what to do from now on.

The Temple Outpost: The Libram of the Six

Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:

• Bruku: Bruku have no time for this! Hraag give you task to do, you do it! Go back to temple outpost!

Talking to him after completing the quest, but before reporting to Hraag, will make him say:

• Bruku: Bruku busy, helping bring together Grey Moon again. Hraag has tasks for you from now on. Now go!

The Fane of the Six: Cleansing the Temple

Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:

• Bruku: Lord Hraag send word to Bruku - he say you doing grand for him. But much still to do. Go to main temple and smash altars, as he say.

Talking to him after completing the quest, but before reporting to Hraag, will make him say:

• Bruku: Why you back here? Hragg is waiting for you on hilltop to say altars are destroyed!

The Fane of the Six: Fall of the Prelate

Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:

• Bruku: Bruku has nothing more to give you. Go to temple, kill Prelate!

Talking to him after completing the quest, but before reporting to Hraag, will make him say:

• Bruku: Is Prelate dead? Hragg must know. You go, tell him.

The Sanctum: Quench the Flames

Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:

• Bruku: Inner temple is open now. You go, stop mephits before they overrun Sorrowdusk! Quench the fires, or all will suffer—ogres, trolls, and men in city across water too!

Talking to him after completing the quest, but before reporting to Hraag, will make him say:

• Bruku: Stinking mephits are stopped ... but worse to come! Find Hragg, quickly!

The Sanctum: Church of the Fury

Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:

• Bruku: Why you here? Six-cult ready to unleash doom on Sorrowdusk and Stormreach both, and you waste time here? Back to temple, quickly! GO!

Talking to him after completing the quest, but before reporting to Hraag, will make him say:

• Bruku: Go talk to Hragg, mighty here. Claim great reward!

After you finish the Cult of the Six arc, he will tell you the following:

• Bruku: Cult of Six is no more. Trolls are quiet again now, and ogres rebuild. Bruku burn offerings over holy fire in your name, as thanks. You friend to Grey Moon always.
