Category talk:DDO Compendium

From DDO wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Why does this category exist? It seems to largely be duplication of Category:Quests by level. Also, the name is confusing. "Quests by level" is self explanatory, "DDO Compendium" could be anything. - Susalona (ContribsMessage) 21:42, February 15, 2016 (EST)

  • It mirrors the scheme of the in game compendium if you press [P] (default) and is not a quest by level. It's also built using DPL (which will need to be overhauled with the introduction of legendary). ShoeMaker (ContribsMessage) 22:42, February 15, 2016 (EST)

I agree with Susalona. This category and the DPL table are utterly useless.
The table doesn't list all the compendium quests (I counted them, don't know which are missing), it lists quests that are not in the compendium (Hall of the Mark, The Grotto, etc.), it displays incorrect data (a bunch of quests that say "Raid" and "Solo only"), it has duplicates of quests (Desecrated Temple of Vol, Madstone Crater, etc.), it has DPL errors (Tomb of the Tormented, Inferno of the Damned), doesn't display other information like favor, has sorting errors (patron, epic level, etc.) and takes a loooooong time to load (23 seconds, a little more and it would time out and perhaps crash the wiki).
The category itself doesn't provide any additional functionality to all the quest lists already on the wiki. The only functionality it would provide (if it had accurate data), would be "Which quests have epic/heroic versions". This functionality is already provided by the "Level X quests" pages. If someone wants to see which heroic quests to skip because they have epic versions, they can go to the Level X quests page and sort the quests by "epic".
