Notes: He asks your help to gather intelligence on Captain Rackam's recruiting techniques.
Trivia: He's cited in Treasure of Crystal Cove/Treasure Map quests.
Barrel's Bottom[edit]
If you try to talk to him while at level 2 or lower, he will reply:
- Dirty Vingus: The Kobold sneers at you.
If you are at level 3 or higher, however, he will reply:
- Dirty Vingus: Ahoy thar, landlubber! Lookin' for work? Well now, I be lookin' for help. A perfect match, aye?
- You: Yes, I could always use some work. What do you have in mind?
- Dirty Vingus: Thar be a rival crew, n' they been recruitin' t' best o' t' best lately. They got an obstacle course, to see if the new prospects be suited fer joinin' t' crew. I want you t' run this course 'n come tell me all 'bout it. If you survive, that is.
- You: I'll do it. No challenge is too hard for me.
- Dirty Vingus: Yaar! That filthy Captain Rackam be keepin' his trial away from pryin' eyes. Head out o' camp, down the windin' mountain road. When ye see the hull o' the Lady Luck, look fer the ancient ruins. Look fer the obstacle course in thar!
- You: I'm on my way. And you'd better have my reward when I get back. (Bestow quest)
- Dirty Vingus: Yaaarrrrrk!
Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make him say:
- Dirty Vingus: Well, what did you find out about t' rival crew?
- You: I've been training for the trials, and I'll go soon.
On completion of quest, he will congratulate you with the following:
- Dirty Vingus: I be seein' that ye survived. Good! What did ye find out?
- You: You explain the trial to Dirty Vingus
- Dirty Vingus: Yarrrk, that be quite th' challenge! Me thinks us Kobolds be needin' somethin' like that t' boost th' ranks o' our crew. Thank ye fer th' information. Here be yer loot.
- You: Good luck with that.
After completing the quest and take the reward, if you talk to him again, he will reply:
- Dirty Vingus: Hah, we Kobolds be stealin' their trial! Our crew will rise again!
