Druid equipment is completely based on your build.

If you are melee you want to focus on your melee stats and seeker item is also very important as in in your wild shape forms you do x3 damage. Prioritize the stats in this order, STR, CON, WIS, DEX. A few secondary things you should look for are, seeker, body feeder, on crit damage weapons such as flaming burst and acid blast and last of all vampiric effect as wolf form gains a bonus to attack speed which can allow you to gain a lot of life back very quickly.

If you are caster based you want to focus on WIS, CON, and spell damage(spell power, and spell crit). Mainly fire or ice as that is mainly what druids use. A few secondary things are, SP items, UMD items, and in some cases high AC armor if you have high DEX. Always max out SP and WIS.

For both caster and melee the Wrath of Sora Kell set works very nicely.

Weapons[edit]

The only martial weapon a druid is inherently proficient with is the scimitar, nothing else. They are not proficient with thrown martial weapons such as the throwing axe and throwing hammer, nor with simple thrown weapons like the throwing dagger. Druids are not proficient with simple ranged weapons like crossbow (neither light nor heavy) and because they do not have general martial weapon proficiency are therefore not proficient with any kind of bow. Druids can however use throwing darts. This means throwing dart is the only option for proficient ranged attack for druids. Obviously, shurikens and repeating crossbows are exotic weapons, and thus require their separate respective exotic weapon proficiencies. these restrictions make quest situations where a ranged attack is helpful very challenging for a druid.

Shields and orbs[edit]

Druids are proficient with Shields, but they cannot use metallic shields. They are not proficient with Tower Shields without taking the feat.

These lootgen or Cannith crafted shield material types are non-metallic and usable by druids:

  • Wooden
  • Darkwood
  • Densewood
  • Spiritcraft
  • Celestial

For a list of eligible named shields, see Druid equipment/Shields.

Armor[edit]

Druids are proficient with Light and Medium armor, but they cannot use metallic armor. They are not proficient with Heavy armor without taking the feat.

All randomly generated heavy armors are metallic. Most random medium armor is metallic, except those with "Hide" in its name. You can rarely find old versions of medium armor (Hide Armor, Darkleaf Banded Mail) at the following locations:

  • Sharn Syndicate quest rewards (BtA)
  • Quest chain end rewards, for example Red Fens (BtA)
  • Pre-generated in the inventory of the Marketplace armor broker (unbound)

You can also obtain old versions of armors or wooden tower shields by visiting vendors such as the ones in Hammer and Chain in Stormreach Harbor. These vendor-purchased armors and shields can be disjuncted and used in Cannith Crafting - For example, to obtain a larger PRR/MRR bonus with shields, you can disjunct a wooden tower shield and then craft it. Note however, these are older types of armors and they have inferior armor bonuses and maximum dexterity limits.

For a list of eligible armor, see Druid equipment/Armor.
