Flanking
In pen-and-paper D&D, when attacking with a melee weapon, the attacker gets a +1 flanking bonus to attack rolls if he or she strikes the target from the side, and a +2 flanking bonus to attack rolls if he or she strikes the target from behind.
In DDO, Sneak Attack largely takes the place of "flanking" bonuses.
