Before Kobold Assault is bestowed:

• Guard Crichton: What have we here? A brave <man/woman> willing to risk <his/her> life in the defense of Stormreach?
• Guard Crichton: Gladewatch Outpost needs reinforcements immediately! Will you help defend it from the kobold hordes? Stormreach is depending on YOU!
• Guard Crichton: (This is an Extreme Challenge dungeon. It is recommended you play this with a large party. Only experienced adventurers should attempt to solo this dungeon.)
  • You: I'm always ready to fight for Stormreach. Take me to the outpost. (Kobold Assault bestowed and open quest entrance UI)
  • You: What sort of attack do you expect?
    • Guard Crichton: The Swamp Fang kobold tribe marches into war, in the name of some Black Dragon they worship.
    • Guard Crichton: And the only thing in their path is Gladewatch Outpost. If the Swamp Fang kobolds overrun it, they'll have access to all of Cerulean Hills - and be able to strike at Stormreach directly!
    • Guard Crichton: Are you going to let that happen? Are you going to bow to our new kobold overlords? Or will you help the Stormreach Guard and save the city?
      • You: I'm always ready to fight for Stormreach. Take me to the outpost. (Kobold Assault bestowed and open quest entrance UI)
      • You: Sounds dangerous. What are the odds of winning?
        • Guard Crichton: Odds?
        • Guard Crichton: In the last major attack, we slaughtered nearly a hundred kobolds! But, remember, they're pathetic creatures -- no match for a trained and coordinated war-party.
        • Guard Crichton: But I won't lie, this will be a terrible battle. But if you stay cool-headed and fight alongside friends you trust, you'll pull through. Probably....
          • You: Sounds like you need my help. Take me to the outpost (Kobold Assault bestowed and open quest entrance UI)
          • You: Hundreds of kobolds? Count me out. (Walk away)

After Kobold Assault is bestowed but before completion:

• Guard Crichton: Kobolds still threaten to overwhelm our outpost!
• Guard Crichton: <name>, are you ready to fight in the defense of Stormreach?

  • You: I'm prepared. Let's get underway! (Open quest entrance UI)
  • You: I'm not yet prepared for the fight. (Walk away)

After completion of Kobold Assault but before taking reward:

• Guard Crichton: Hah, that was a legendary battle, make no mistake!
• Guard Crichton: You must have slain two hundred of those filthy creatures before the day was won! Allow me to present you with this reward from the stores of the Stormreach City Guard.

After completion of Kobold Assault and after taking reward:

• Guard Crichton: Thank you for your service to Stormreach!
• Guard Crichton: Gladewatch Outpost still stands, keeping the unknown Xen'drik wilderness from reaching the walls of Stormreach.
  • You: Repat[sic] the "Kobold Assault" quest. (see "What have we here?..." above)
