Location: Korthos Island, Gunnar is standing on a rock near the gate to Korthos Village. He is scouting out and suspecting of some sahuagin movement in the nearby underground complex.

Notes: Gunnar is also the son of Sigmund Bauerson and Ingrid Bauerson.
Korthos Island[edit]
As soon as you see him, he will approach you:
- Gunnar Bauerson: Hold!
- Gunnar Bauerson: Are you friend or foe? What is your business here?
- You: I'm working with your father, Sigmund.
- Gunnar Bauerson: Well then, I could use your help.
- Gunnar Bauerson: The Sahuagin have found a great beast imprisoned beneath the island since the Age of Giants—and they're trying to wake it up!
- Gunnar Bauerson: The beast is kept in eternal slumber by an ancient device, far underground. The Sahuagin have sabotaged it, but if you can sneak into the Underground Complex at the bottom of this cliff, you should be able to reactivate it. It's our only hope!
- You: Alright - I'll handle it. You stay here. (Bestow quest)
Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make he say:
- Gunnar Bauerson: Why do you tarry here, <name>? Korthos will be swallowed whole unless you activate the ancient Giantish device in the Underground Complex!
On completion of quest, he will tell you with the following:
- Gunnar Bauerson: You did it?
- Gunnar Bauerson: Wonderful! I knew I could trust you. Korthos will be safe... at least for now.
- You: Good luck to you, Gunnar.
After you get your reward, if you talk to him again, he will say:
- Gunnar Bauerson: I see you are still alive. Impressive.
- Gunnar Bauerson: Keep pushing forward.
