Secret door

From DDO wiki
(Redirected from Hidden door)
Jump to navigation Jump to search

A Secret door (or hidden door) is a door that appears to be an ordinary part of the wall, and can only be found by using the Search skill or using the spell Detect Secret Doors or True Seeing, and can also be detected by having a suitable Spot skill (an on-screen hint will pop up when nearby).

  • Secret Door; Spot DC values will be 5 below their Search DC values (U46).

Usually placed in spots ranging from completely obvious to absolutely surprising, secret doors are usually little more than a section of the wall that can be moved. There are also some secret doors that cannot be searched for or use Detect Secret Doors on; instead, a lever is hidden nearby that you use instead to open it, similar to opening regular doors.

In Update 19, secret door detection mechanics has been updated:

Secret Doors have been rebalanced to better scale across the full range of the DDO content. The DCs needed to find a secret door with a Search check has been lowered in the earlier level ranges, but remain roughly the same in the higher level ranges. Associated spells and skills related to finding secret doors have been rebalanced in relation to the new difficulty curve. Items and spell descriptions have been updated to indicate how high of a DC they are able to detect.
