If you are at level 8 or higher, however, he will reply:

• Mul-Tong: The brooding ogre mage looks upon you with contempy. More outlanders from the north? Bah...
  • You: (Diplomacy) Mighty ogre, I ask for your help in acquiring a broken stone --
    • Mul-Tong: The Sigil of Dal Quor. You think me some primitive half-wit from the mainland? I know full well what you seek. But I give you the same answer I gave the smuggler drek when they asked: no. Restoring the sigil is perhaps the only way of appeasing that traitor who killed our king.
      • You: Who is this traitor? Why not just kill him? (See below)
  • You: (Haggle) This 'outlander' has gold to spend. Where can I replenish my supplies?
    • Mul-Tong: Get out of my sight, worm. Clan Runetusk only trades with those it deems worthy. Do you think our master smiths care only of gold? You aren't fit to carry their hammers.
      • You: I am a great hero from Stormreach and I demand to speak to your chief. Who's in charge here? (See below)
  • You: (Bluff) Mighty ogre king! I have come far from the north to speak with you of a dire situation! But first, perhaps some food and drink?
    • Mul-Tong: You think me as a savage brute. I assure you, I am most intelligent. As for you, I'm not so sure. I am no king. The ogres of Clan Runetusk have no king. Not since that traitor had him killed.
      • You: What traitor? Who runs your clan now that your king is dead? (See below)

  • Mul-Tong: Ghola-Fan runs these islands now, hidden away in his fortress like the coward he is. He has new allies, the illithids. Beings with strange powers I cannot begin to understand. After the death of the Khan, the clan split into two groups: those loyal to me, Mul-Tong, and those allied with Ghola-Fan and the illithids. Our people are divided and weak. The wildmen encroach upon our lands... I fear our days are at an end.
  • You: Mul-Tong, I understand the situation. Allow me to fight on your behalf.
  • Mul-Tong: Mul-Tong looks puzzled. I do not understand. You would die for me and my people, all in pursuit of a broken stone?
    • You: Ghola-Fan broke your laws and killed your king. I understand the need for justice. (Bestow quest)
    • You: As an old friend once said, 'You can't die twice.' Or was that, 'You only live once.'? Ah, it's all the same I guess. (Bestow quest)
    • You: Business is business... the traitor's head for the sigil. I'll be back. (Bestow quest)

Talking to him after acquiring the quest, but before completion, will make he say:

• Mul-Tong: You have a job to do, <race>. And remember that the Runetusks hold no love for liars or cowards.
  • You: I am neither, Mul-Tong. Just remember your part of the bargain. (Walk away)

On completion of quest, he will congratulate you with the following:

• Mul-Tong: Paka tracked you to the compound and waited for your return. He told me of your deeds, though I find it hard to believe.
• You: Yes, Ghola-Fan is dead. And I saw one of the mind flayers with him.
• Mul-Tong: The illithid leader, Istharan. It's a shame he escaped but our agreement was for Ghola-Fan's head, not the illithid's. Very well, here is the broken sigil. But it is useless without the missing shards.
• You: We are not so different, you and I. We both value courage and honor. Perhaps one day your people will see that.

After completing the quest and taking the reward, if you talk to him again, he will reply:

• Mul-Tong: The Forgemaster said you had a strong spirit. The Swordmaster admired your courage. I admit that I did not expect you to return alive. What happens now that Ghola-Fan is dead?
• You: Clan Runetusk needs a new leader, ogre. If it's your destiny, I suggest you embrace it.
