Soul Magic

Description[edit]

Every time you strike an enemy with your bow, you gain 1 temporary spell point. This effect can stack up to 10 times.
+10 Universal Spell Power.

Acquiring Soul Magic[edit]

Soul Magic is one of the Tier 3 Arcane Archer enhancements. It only requires 10 AP to have been spent in the Arcane Archer tree, and only costs 1 AP, making this a very attractive enhancement.

Notes on usage[edit]

  • Every time you strike an enemy, you will gain 1 temporary spell point. Each additional arrow hit will increase the temporary spell point counter.
  • For example, if you shoot and hit with 3 arrows, you will gain 1, 2 and then 3 temporary spell points (totaling 6)
  • This stacking continues up to 10 hits. If you've expended no spell points while hitting enemies 10 times, you will have an extra 55 spell points.
  • You don't have to hit the same enemy in order to increase the temporary spell point counter.
  • Hitting breakables won't increase the counter.
  • The extra spell points vanish after you use a spell, and the extra spell point counter will reset back to 1.
  • If used wisely, you can greatly increase your running spell point balance. For instance, if you are a wizard and you performed arrow+arrow+arrow+arrow+Frost Lance, you would have gained +10 temporary spell points, and then used 10 spell points on the frost lance. This would leave you where with your original spell point balance. If you continued doing this, you would never consume spell points.
  • There will be an indicator at the top of your screen with the current number of hits (out of 10) as well as what the current spell point bonus will be when you hit with the next arrow.
  • In your spell point meter, you will see the number of temporary spell points in parentheses.
  • Because you will almost certainly use fewer spell points, consider adding more meta-magics (heighten, quicken, etc.) to your spells.
  • A good place to test Soul Magic is on your guild airship's training dummy. Learn to time your arrow hits and your spell cooldowns. Inferno Shot (another Arcane Archer enhancement) works against the training dummy.
  • Consider combining this with Inferno Shot (cost of 6sp) during a long boss fight (in addition to other spells).
