Yup, think we should remove the TOC? Looks rediculous, maybe ===Text=== each word could fix it to.

There are a few words I'm thinknig of removing:

GG - Never heard it.
INC - Never heard it.
IRL - RL is more used, so I created RL and I suggest we delete IRL.
Kek - Never heard it, and I don't plan to heard it, unless it comes from a plat farmer, which I don't care to miss. ;-)
LFM - Only what is in paranthese. Never saw that used.
QFE - DDO is not a forum.
QFT - See above.
MU - Already forgot what it meant, show how useless it is.

What do you think?

I agree, I left out a lot of terms that need to be in there. I'm finding my new job to be a little more time-intensive than I expected, and playing DDO takes precedence over updating the wiki when I'm at home.
With regards to the table of contents, I think it needs to stay as is. If we were to include all the individual terms in the ToC, we'd end up with a much larger and extremely ugly ToC. As things stand, people can look up a term by clicking on the first letter of it there, or they can hide the thing. It's definitely not as pretty as I'd like, but I don't see a better alternative, aside from having multiple pages to the glossary, and that's not a message I want to send. If you know a better way, please share. :)
Some of the ones you've marked for deletion I use, and others I've seen used. I would prefer not to see any of them removed, even if they aren't used often. The point is to have a reference for players who hear something they don't understand in game. If it doesn't have the term they heard/saw, what good is it? NameisToad 11:19, July 18, 2007 (EDT)

The "Mortals" guild entry

I removed this entry because it seemed like an inappropriate one in terms of DDO game play. For one, it's really an advertisement for one guild. Second, it involves a motto for one guild that isn't a game vocabulary convention, which is the purpose of the glossary. Table of Contents

The compactTOCright that is used I have gone through and made "Table of Contents" supposed to be a link back to the top of the page, It works in the three templates that are chained together (Not sure why it was broken up into 3), but it doesn't seem to work on this page.. If someone else can look it over and see ifg you can figure it out, I would appreciate that.. The Glossary is sooooo loooooooooooooooooong that this feature to be able to be able to bounce around at ease without have to scroll all the way back to the top to use the TOC or scroll til you find what you want. INTERJECTION

I had removed 2 terms, one of them happened to be woo woo stick. I've been a part of this game since the inception of it, through beta i was proud to play, through the primary run of the game I was proud to be there. Now I'm back for the FtP version now. The wikia is a place new players are going in order to learn the game, and the terms used. It needs to remain current no one says woo woo stick anymore, ever. This terms section should be up todate, and not carry hold over terms that are around simply because "they were used in the day"

I still use the term "woo-woo stick".. I actually just asked a guild member on Monday (Scheduled Reaver's Fate night) if he was ready to go get his "woo-woo stick". He then asked me what it was and I told him to look it up on the wiki. Fact of the matter is that Dreamspitters still go "woo" when they go off, even if they no-longer auto-crit... -- ShoeMaker 18:48, May 26, 2011 (EDT)

1337 and censorship

I know DDO (...but not this independent fan-based wiki to my knowledge?) has a policy of some really nonsensical censorship (like "burned" or having "elemental" in your bio) but do we really need to have such comically bad euphemisms for terms here ("what the frack" and all that)? Moreover, does this glossary really even need to explain so many of the countless abbreviated terms and 1337 words that are unrelated to DDO itself? It's frankly embarassing to even read and not really relevant to the subject matter. Scummbert (Contributions • Message) 05:01, October 20, 2012 (EDT)

TBH, I'm not sure what your point is. Are you suggesting filtering the glossary?

As this is a wiki, added to and edited by all, these terms were all added by wiki contributors. Is it right for us to go nit-picking though the glossary going "this one goes, but this one's okay?" If it truly has no place here on the wiki and in the realms of DDO, online gaming, and the socialization it brings with it - I say sure, remove it, but if it has some reference to something in game or has been linked here as reference, then no.
