Verbal[edit]

I rolled back the recent modification:

A verbal component is a spoken incantation. You cannot cast spells that require this component if you cannot act or speak.
Gameplay: This has no gameplay applications in DDO, as all characters can always speak and there are no effects which prevent you from doing so. This is actually incorrect...there are no silencing spells (other than the barbarians enhancement tree), but any sort of entanglement type spell (ie: web) will cause you to be unable to do verbal only spells (ie: Otto's sphere of dancing).

Reasoning: In fact web shouldn't prevent one from casting verbal spells but it does. So in other words there is no real difference in game between verbal and non-verbal spells. Also remarks like This is actually incorrect... actually belong on the discussion page, while the page itself should stay neutral without those remarks. Otherwise if the statement would be indeed incorrect it should be reworded to reflect the reality.

Casting Spells[edit]

The "Casting Spells" section does not tell how to cast a spell. That is, how to interact with the interface to make the spell happen. Since I don't know how (new player,) I can't cast a spell or add the information to the wiki.

  • Hmm... In ten years... I don't think I've ever seen this question before. Check out this video and you'll see how to drag spells to your hotbar... Once they are on your hotbar, you can either use the key associated with the slot on the hotbar (each cell tells you if there is a key associated with it, and what the key (combo) is) or just click on the icon on the hotbar. Let me know if I can be more help. ShoeMaker (Contribs • Message) 21:13, August 8, 2016 (EDT)
