Disappearance of outfits[edit]

Due to some change in game, the pre U-17 non-named outfits are disappearing.

The details are unknown -

  • it is unknown if they are already gone, or if they disappear on character or account log-in;
  • it is unknown if it's possible to restore them.
  • The devs are investigating the issue. DDO Forums

Until it is solved, some people may appreciate a warning that logging in may cost them all their outfits. Would it be appropriate to put one somewhere on the main page?

We are aware that randomly-generated outfits (aka - not named) have disappeared from the game worlds. We are currently working to address this through a hotfix, and will provide more information and detail as soon as it becomes available.

It looks like Cannith crafted outfits are also affected, (...)

Otherwise, yes, any randomly-generated outfit, whether it be in the Auction House, bank, shared bank, etc, is affected by this bug.

edit: found a Lamannia thread DDO Forums, apparently they were trying to do Outfit re-modeling and something went wrong huh... yoko5000 (ContributionsMessage) 04:13, February 21, 2013 (EST)

It would appear that the outfits to not disappear until you log into that character. DDO Forums AZGreenTea

Fixes[edit]

Cordovan (Contribs • Message• Cordovan), should prevent future disappearances on characters that have not been logged in since Update 17 was released. Restoration of items for characters that logged in prior to the hotfix will be handled in some capacity, later. --Spencerian 15:37, February 21, 2013 (EST)

Another thread here, DDO Forums looks like we are receiving lost item via in-game mail. --yoko5000 (ContributionsMessage) 03:46, February 23, 2013 (EST)

While the hotfix was supposed to fix the problem of outfits disappearing, there are reports it was not fully effective.

Taking the returned outfits out of mail may cause problems too:

All right, we'll keep looking into it. Since it looks like I may have given out incorrect information earlier, I'll remove that until we have a better idea of what's going on. It - appears - that if you had completed a quest in the chain and taken an outfit as an end reward, then detaching that outfit from the mail advances/completes the overall story arc. If I find out more, I'll let you know.

As of March-17;

t this time all outfits should be returned. If you are still missing your outfits please check to see if they were mailed to a different character, and if they are still missing, get in touch with our support folks. Thanks!
