Packs I Own[edit]
- Attack on Stormreach - Entirely different quests, no repetitive feel. Still want to keep the mines from Undermine...
- Catacombs - quick and fun, with some decent loot. Apparently, YMMV on the "fun" part.
- Delera's Tomb - four words: Voice of the Master. 'Nuff said. There's some other good stuff there, as well, and great XP.
- Demon Sands - I've done like two quests, one of which I vaguely enjoyed, the other didn't. Rather good wildy, though.
- Devil Assault - Chronoscope has really grown on me. (And for the record, the Conjoined Abishai Devastator is totally a Captain Planet ripoff, not Voltron. Four elements and poison (instead of heart) joining together? Totally CP. Don't get me wrong, Voltron is better... but Voltron this ain't.) And Devil Assault itself is also good fun. What can be better than staying in the same spot and beating up on devils for a while to get the frustrations out? Now if only banishing worked on 'em...
- Necropolis 1
- Necropolis 2
- Necropolis 3
- Phiarlan Carnival - LOTS of fun! (Well, I could maybe do without A Small Problem, but the other three are excellent! And ASP is pretty fun, too. Just not AS fun. But I love the dialogue.)
- Restless Isles
- Ruins of Gianthold
- Ruins of Threnal - Ugh, Coyle. Best time I had in that one was when I was on "knock Coyle out" duty. Not too bad otherwise.
- Sentinels of Stormreach - Rather fun, I thought. Great loot, my capped monk *still* loves her Jidz-Tet'ka. Non-repetitive, so I approve.
- Shan-To-Kor - Rather fun, decent loot, looks great. I like it!
- The Red Fens
- The Sharn Syndicate - I have absolutely WAY too much fun with this one. And the Nicked Weapons are to die for! (Well, to kill for...) They just need Nicked Dwarven Axes and Nicked Handwraps, and I'll be a very, very happy man. Short, quick, and to the point... and I just have a blast with Stand Your Ground. I keep hoping I'll snag a bound FF ring on Thelanis, like I did my second time through on Khyber... I had so much fun with this pack, I bought it as soon as I got off VIP without even waiting for a sale. Totally worth it. And now with Cannith Crafting, it's even BETTER with all that fun BTA loot!
- Sorrowdusk Isle - Slightly repetitive at times, but still fun. Never did get my monk her Snowstar, but thanks to Cannith Crafting I don't need it anymore.
- Tangleroot Gorge - The wilderness area is kinda fun, but the quest chain... ugh. Repetitive. Repetitive. Repetitive. Repeti... wait, did I already say that? Well, it bears repeating... Great music, but the quest itself is SOOO repetitive. Probably doesn't help that I'm allergic to just zerging through and finishing the Outer Fortress quests, noooo, I just have to go kill and break and loot everything... EVERY time! Rewards WERE great, but a fair number of the ones I'd care for have been supplanted by the Pirate event. Really only worth doing for 1) the favor, and 2) the Totemic Staff of Splinterskull. Can't beat a pet summoning clicky with a stick!
- Three-Barrel Cove - Whee, pirates! And the quests are fun, too! I've come to the conclusion that my favorite packs are the ones where it's not just a straight chain (like STK, Catacombs, & Tangleroot), but can do the quests whenever, like this and Sharn and Phiarlan. Now if only there was a transport system around the island...
- Vault of Night (story arc) - great XP, decent loot if you can get it. Bring a rogue for VoN 5...
Packs I don't own, but still have an opinion about from VIP[edit]
- Harbinger of Madness - quite fun, although the Taken are just plain WRONG.
- Reign of Madness - I still can't decide whether Acute Delirium cracks me up or disturbs me. Probably both. The Sane Asylum, though... ye gods, if it wasn't for the Shard of Xoriat I wouldn't set foot in the place. A maze... that changes... when you kill certain monsters? SAVE ME! So glad I don't have to worry about the cleaning bill for my clothes...
- The Vale of Twilight - Entirely different quests. Don't kill the spiders! My gimpy hagglebard, with her paralyzing sword of PG, hates Running with the Devils... The wildy rocks.
