Wounded Soldier.jpg

Name: Wounded Soldier

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Location: The Storm Horns

Description:

The Revealed Paladin has his true form, but he is still lying down
The Revealed Paladin is standing up, but he is still weaked

When you walk in the Storm Horns, you may encounter a wounded soldier. Who is he? What side of the war is he on?

At least you can talk to him. He will answer: "Please don't attack... though I know what I must look like. I am a human paladin, and after a battle with an evil wizard, I was left to die. But as a parting insult, he cast a spell on me to give me this form."

You get 3 options:

  • Investigate if he is speaking the truth.
  • Offer help.
  • Don't offer help.

Investigating him, You ask him: "If you're a paladin, who is your deity?" His answer will be: "I am a devoted paladin of Ilmater." Then you can ask him two questions:

  • "What is your weapon of choice?" A right paladin will answer: "It is an empty hand."
  • "What is Ilmater's holy symbol?" A right paladin will answer: "Two hands, bound by a red cord."

These are to be the correct ones and he seems realy to be a revealed paladin. So, now you think you know what to do with him.

Helping him, he changes into the revealed paladin and he 'thanks you'. At least you can ask: "Will you be ok?"

Other answers

But ... the wounded soldier can give different answers for the weapon and the symbol, for instance:

  • "What a silly question. It's a morning star, of course" (to both questions) - the soldier seems to be an Orc Berserker.
    • When you help him, he seems to be thankful, by not starting a fight and saying something as: "I never thought you bought that."
    • When you don't help him, he seems to understand it and dies without any protest. (This doesn't count for the area slayer.)
