Description: "The strange flying head laughs maniacally, and then explodes into a shower of bats."

Although clearly meant to be a Vargouille, this monster was added to the game some years before Vargouilles were themselves added with Mists of Ravenloft, and is therefore instead a vampire.

The developer Vargouille left DDO's development team between the 12th and 13th Anniversaries; his in-game representation was subsequently moved to the area underneath the stage in which the ex-devs are found (many as Skeletons or Wraiths, but some as NPCs) and continues to exist as an NPC there to this day. His role as an optional boss fight has since been filled in by +Lichabel.
