Category talk:Item description templates
All of the "depreciated use skill" pages linked to this can be safely deleted - I've just gone through and made them all skill templates instead. -LrdSlvrhnd 01:57, February 11, 2011 (EST)
Does this page really need a extra list on top? The "usage" doesn't really describe how to use the templates. All templates are listed at the bottom of the page and a re always up2date. The extra list on top only means more work whenever a template is added or removed. -PCrazee 08:53 July 07, 2012
Item description templates that need updating (Update 29)[edit]
- Template:False Life - magnitude parameter needs to allow for any numerical value.
- Template:Seeker - bonus type parameter needs to be expanded; include Quality
- Template:MiscEffects
- The assassinate option needs to allow for alternate bonus types (insight)
- Diversion
- The new items specify that this diversion bonus is an Enhancement bonus, so we may want to add this to the tooltip even though I am not currently aware of any other bonus types for this property. Not sure if this change is retroactive. See the Leathers of the Celestial Avenger at this link: https://www.ddo.com/en/update-29-named-item-information
- Need to add Distant Diversion (ranged), see Item:Leathers of the Celestial Archer
- Add Greater Reinforced Fists
- Template:Dmg
- Deception, see the enchantment listed on Item:Subtle Sound. Seems like they've made some weird changes to this one.
- Deadly - needs to allow for a possible bonus type of Quality
- Template:Parrying - needs to allow a different magnitude for bonus to AC and saves, see Category:Legendary Hound of Xoriat loot.
- Template:Proof - this property now seems to be called poison or disease ward, although I don't know if the change is retroactive. Also, the bonus type parameter needs to accept Quality. See Item:Arraetrikos' Bane (level 15)
- Template:Stunning - bonus type parameter needs to be added; include Quality
Template:Stat - need to add bonus type "spooky" for WIS and INT (night revels event)- Template:Wizardry - bonus type parameter needs to be added; include Quality
- Template:HealingAmp - bonus type parameter needs to be expanded; include Insight
Template:CraftingEffects - add Legendary Taint of Shavarath

I'd like to dump {{MiscEffects}}
in favor of each effect having it's own template (even if some of the code is redundant - it can go in meta-templates). The reason for this is I plan on doing a massive overhaul of our Item: page template system in order to facilitate a new JavaScript gadget that will streamline creation and maintenance of all item pages. This new gadget will make offer a web form with drop down choices and/or input boxes for entry lines and reduce the inconsistency and make it easier for ANYONE to add or update an item. Depending on how well this gadget works, I'd like to be able to expand it into other templated things like quests, NPS, monsters, hirelings, etc. Thoughts? - I agree with you that it would probably be best to separate the MiscEffects template. I almost suggested that in my list above but I figured it would be best to let those who fully understand the template functions make that decision. — previous unsigned comment by Susalona ( t | e | c | d | r | b ) at 12:59, December 31, 2015 (UTC)
Miscategorization[edit]
Most of the pages in this category are (correctly) templates, but the subcategories and a handful of pages are not. I'm guessing there's a template that forgot to put <noinclude/> around its category, but I haven't been able to track it down. ⇒ Hoopy Froodle (Contribs • Message • Email) 10:59, July 29, 2019 (EDT)
