Inherent bonus

From DDO wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

A bonus to an ability score, skill, or other statistics, resulting from powerful magic, such as a wish.

  • Multiple inherent bonuses do not stack, so only the best one applies.
  • Inherent bonuses cannot be dispelled.
  • Inherent bonuses (to ability and skill) count for feat prerequisites, such as Power Attack or Single Weapon Fighting.

Sources[edit]

Reincarnation[edit]

All inherent bonuses are kept with any form of reincarnation. Skill and ability bonuses apply gradually as you level up.

Inherent bonus +1 +2 +3 +4 +5 +6 +7 +8
Applies at level 1 1 3 7 11 15 19 22

Note: Tomes don't apply during the character creation screen. A reincarnated character with 11 base Strength and a +2 ability tome of strength will not be able to select the Power Attack feat. As soon as the character steps into the world, tomes become effective. You can then visit Fred and swap feats to pick up Power Attack.

On the character sheet:

  • You can see your current active bonus by hovering over an ability score or skill.
  • For abilities, you can check your total inherent bonus on the Feats tab under special feats.
  • For skills, there's no way to display the total inherent bonus for low-level characters.

History[edit]

Inherent bonuses on equipable items no longer exist as of Update 14.
