Equipped/Equipment Bonus[edit]

The description indicates that the healing amp is an Equipment bonus, not an Equipped bonus (do others preexisting items have an Equipped bonus as well?).
Template:HealingAmp uses the form HealingAmp|Amount|(Amp Type)|(Bonus Type). Should the bonus type be specified as Equipment so as to be categorized with all the other Equipment bonus items, or is it not relevant? Clemeit (ContribsMessage) 12:22, April 12, 2018 (EDT)

The categorization is currently correct, but with a hack in the template code (equipped gets replaced with Equipment manually). As for the effect name, the devs create new effect names quite frequently, but the effect remains the same. I do believe that the effect in the wiki should stick to the norm (Equipment Healing Hmplification: +15) and be consistent with how it appears through pages (even if the game description can be misleading). See Levik's Bracers. Do you agree? Faltout (ContribsMessage) 17:22, April 12, 2018 (EDT)
  • Wiki text for items should match the picdesc verbatim if at all possible.  👟 ShoeMaker (Contribs • Message) 👟 19:12, April 12, 2018 (EDT)
Wiki text for items should be what helps the players most and not a mere copy from the game (which confused players the first time who then came to the wiki for clarification). The copy of the game can be seen in the pic. (that's my opinion anyway, just as the above is your opinion and not any wiki law) Faltout (ContribsMessage) 19:24, April 12, 2018 (EDT)
It's a difficult question to answer. On one hand, the wiki is there to be a useful and simple tool for the player to use as reference. In that regard, effects should be streamline and simple as to ward confusion. "Is this going to give me an equipped bonus which stacks with my equipment bonus?" might be a legitimate question that could arise from sticking strictly to the game. On the other hand, it's important to adhere as closely to the game as possible as to maintain objectivity. In this instance I believe it's better to use Equipment Healing Amplification +15Icon tooltip.pngHealing Amplification: This effect amplifies all incoming positive energy healing by +15 (Equipment bonus). Includes spells, potions, and other effects. which matches the actual effect of the item rather than the ambiguous effect title. Clemeit (ContribsMessage) 21:55, April 12, 2018 (EDT)
  • Our job as a wiki is to document the game. If the name of the effect is "Equipped Healing Amplification: +20", that is what it should show as. When people mouse over the effect or look at how it is categorized below, it should be plenty clear that "This item provides a +15 equipment bonus to Healing Amplification". That's the entire reason the popups exist, to clarify those things. I've had more people confused and say "It's not Equipment Healing Amp, It's Equipped Healing amp.". They are correct.  👟 ShoeMaker (Contribs • Message) 👟 01:47, April 13, 2018 (EDT)
