Past Life feats are acquired through all forms of Reincarnation except Lesser Reincarnation.

This article is about class past life feats.

There are two kinds of Past Life Feats.

  • "Past Life: <class>" is free.
  • "Past Life: <more interesting name with abilities that has the above feat as a prereq>" can be taken as your choice of Feat during level up as of Level 3.

Dominant class[edit]

When you perform a Heroic or Iconic True Reincarnation, your character gains the Past Life of your dominant class, the class that is shown as your character's class icon in parties. This is determined by:

  • the class you have the most levels of.
  • In the case of a tie, the dominant class is the first listed on this list (the one with the lowest number):
  1. Barbarian
  2. Bard (including Stormsinger)
  3. Cleric (including Dark Apostate)
  4. Fighter (including Dragon Lord)
  5. Paladin (including Sacred Fist)
  6. Ranger (including Dark Hunter)
  7. Rogue
  8. Sorcerer
  9. Wizard
  10. Monk
  11. Favored Soul
  12. Artificer
  13. Druid* (including Blightcaster)
  14. Warlock* (including Acolyte of the Skin)
  15. Alchemist
That is: alphabetical for the original 9 classes, then new classes added at the end in order* of release.source
* Note: This order is, as of 2020, correct. Prior to this, Warlock had originally been dominant over Druid when their levels were tied, despite Druid being released before Warlock. This was confirmed to be a bug, which was subsequently fixed in U45.

Free feats[edit]

If you True Reincarnate again, you keep any/all old Past Life feat(s) from your previous incarnation(s), and add an additional one from your dominant class from this life.

  • All passive Past Life feats can be stacked a maximum of three times each.

Purchased feats[edit]

When you true reincarnate, you'll end up with a new, free Feat from the above list, as appropriate to the dominant class of your previous True Incarnation(s), something such as "Past Life: Cleric" {or the like}. Those free Feats act as prerequisites for the feats listed below. These require a feat slot, and cannot be taken before Character Level 3.

Note: Archetypes do not have their own versions of these feats - for instance, a Dark Apostate pasts life can be used to qualify for Initiate of the Faith, without requiring a past life of Cleric. Bug: Blight Caster and Dark Hunter lives do not currently give any purchasable feats.

For purposes of these feats, caster level is equal to your total character level.

Past Life: Initiate of the Faith Prereq: Past Life: Cleric Benefit: You recall more about your past life as a cleric. You have +2 to your Heal skill, and can produce a Healing Word effect three times per rest. Positive energy is channeled to heal light wounds of your target or damage undead for 1d4 hit points plus an additional 1d4 per two caster levels. Undead who make a successful Will save reduce the damage by half.

Quote: the option to clutter your screen with a massivly oversized graphic I think many people are seriously overestimating how much larger true reincarnated characters are. No Halfling Godzillas rampaging across House Jorasco, sorry. A double reincarnated human is still shorter than a Warforged.

Correct, you gain the Past Life of your dominant class. If you True Reincarnate again, you keep your old Past Life feat from your first incarnation, and add a second from your dominant class from this life (if it was different).

Here's the current list of Past Life feats:

Edit: Caster Level is considered to be equal to your character level.

May be worth it to get some healing ability, or a superior version of Mental Toughness, or ...
