Talk:Dr. Rushmore's Mansion: Behind the Door

From DDO wiki

I'm not sure the Spider Queen is a Brown Spider. I can run it again later today, but I think she is a Darkfang or other similar Spider. Her body is blue/grey with an orange/red colored mouth. Also, I remember her being red named and dropping a chest when I ran it this morning on CR 4. User:AZGreenTea She has the stats of a normal spider and the looks of a Crimson Foot Spider. But the Crimson Foot Spiders are magical beasts and have special DR, resistances and immunities and since she lacks all those and is labeled as vermin and not magical beast it's best to go with Brown Spider, Darkfang Spider or just Spider when describing her. by Mjoll 11:01, November 23, 2011 (EST)

AZGreenTea:

First, start signing your talk posts correctly. Use four tildes: ~~~~ to sign and date. 2nd, go to your ingame options and modify your monster colors to something you can deferentiate better. The default orange/red looks too similar and MANY people mix it up, like yourself. The mother of the nest is most definetely an orange named, as I pointed out. Yes she drops a chest, but shes orange. I've stunned her many times, and insta killed her.

Challenge Duration bugged[edit]

Check this:

Challenge Duration[edit]

Variable:

  • Timer starts at 13 minutes and the timer increases for many events:
    • Checkpoint! Time extended by 2 minutes for opening gates.
    • Chrono Buff! Time extended by 1 minute for obtaining rare orb buffs.
    • Minute of time watch. These rare items can increase the timer by 1 minute, only 1 may be used per instance.
      • Expect a perfect 6 star run to take 42-45 minutes.

Now all that data is correct. Yet mathematically it doesn't line up with my screenshot (43min for complete run, and had other runs at 42min): 13 min base. 2min x16 for gates = +32min = Already we're up to 45 minutes. Pretty sure I collected a chrono buff or 2. Timer shows 43min. There's no way to sell time in this particular variation.

Almost seems like were getting jipped on time.. 1min or challenge timer = not one minute of real time?

What do you mean? Maybe you had some leftover minutes when you finished, completion time can differ from the total amount of accumulated time. by Mjoll 04:35, November 24, 2011 (EST)

What? Not sure you understand how challenges work as that doesn't make sense.

Thats not how they work. It's not possible to "finish" a challenge. They "complete" the moment the timer runs out, in all cases. No matter how fast you complete the main objective, or all of them, they still only complete when the timer runs out.. As you technically can never do "everything". In this case after you've done all the objectives, you can kill respawns for more score, the higher the score, the more items rewarded. The time listed equals exact time you've been in there, in most cases. EG: Fixed duration ones that are say 10min, always say 10min, regardless of when you hit the quota, or done anything else.

Right, I forgot about the 'get kicked out of the quest when timer reaches zero' completion mechanic for challenges. Well then, you can idle at the quest entrance for the whole duration of the quest and use a stopwatch to check if the game cheats on time or if it's just a bug left unsquashed. by Mjoll 05:46, November 24, 2011 (EST)

figured it out... some gates were bugged and not granting the +2 min. Been fixed now. 45 min for perfect run + any rare chrono buffs.

Ugg elementals[edit]

Ugg can summon other types of elementals in the Picture Portals version at least. If he's not doing it specifically in Behind the Door, it may be a bug or people just leave the Earth Elementals that he always summons first since other elementals are a pain. - Glenalth
