Talk:Intimidate

The number of 25 damage worth of aggro comes from level 16 characters with around 40 intimidate. Reducing the intimidate by -17 doesn't change the aggro noticeably, but it is unknown if factors like character HD are counted in. Promethor 17:03, July 4, 2008 (EDT)

With what monsters have you tested that? How did you test it? I can't leave something on the wiki if the sample is too small.--Borror0 19:46, July 4, 2008 (EDT)
Why can't you? Promethor 02:17, July 5, 2008 (EDT)
Because it's inaccurate? If it's only an hypothesis, then it shoudl remain so until it has been throughtly tested or recognised by the developers.--Borror0 11:23, July 5, 2008 (EDT)
It was more accurate before, when it had an example number. Now it has no number at all, making it LESS informative and also LESS accurate. Previously, a player could have some idea of the power of the effect, but now there isn't even a clue. Why are you removing helpful data? If you feel the source for the data is insufficiently reliable, there are things like "unverified" tags that can be placed.
It's a philosophical problem: is it better to have something which might not be 100% perfect, or to have nothing at all? A wiki which only contains information that has been directly developer-published and also thoroughly tested is one that won't have very much data on it. (Indeed, that may contribute to how worthless DDOwiki is for questions such as "What is the armor class of Velah?) As they say: "Perfect is the enemy of the good" -- Promethor 17:08, July 5, 2008 (EDT)
It is not less accurate nor less informative. Putting information that has not even been tested is what is inaccurate and misleading. I have ot said to not post it, I said that I removed until you tell me how you had it figured it out. I'm not calling you a liar, I'm saying that I'm requiring a certain level of quality for the information on the wiki. Otherwise, you could just write whatever... and the wiki would loose all value. If you have not tested it deeply enough and you're just throwing a number because you feel like it, well I don't have of that. It,s better to have nothing at all, than to misinform. And yes, perfection is not too much to ask. --Borror0 18:08, July 5, 2008 (EDT)
