Untitled[edit]

I know that Taint of Shavarath can be removed from Green Steel Items with a Essence of Cleansing in an Altar of Devastation. Can this effect be removed from other items in the same way? ShoeMaker 01:15, January 27, 2012 (EST)

No. It's a unique effect unrelated to any crafting. The one on the litany of the dead can be, as thats specificly what the upgrade does. Shade

Update 32[edit]

Proposed merge[edit]

This page is redundant with the body of Category:Taint of Evil items. I think the preferred method is to have the content in a separate page and point to it from the category (although this far from a universal standard). Hoopy Froodle (ContribsMessage) 11:03, July 2, 2019 (EDT)

  • I don't know about any standard. We have often one page for the enchantment, and another category page. Not sure what's the best practice regarding adding content to category pages, and I don't recall any recent (or ancient) discussions. In the recent months, I have created a bunch of separate enchantment pages and category pages, maybe I am doing it wrong? In general, smells like work. There are three pages worth of whatlinkshere, though many of those are transclusions. There's also Taint of Chaos for consistency.
What imho is missing from the wiki is information about this type of negative level. That it's temporary, cannot be healed (other than removing the item) and that the penalties it bestows are different from normal negative levels. -- Cru121 (ContribsMessage) 03:15, July 3, 2019 (EDT)
  • We actually have a setup of templates, that I honestly don't remember all the specifics of, for enchantment pages where there should be a template on the category page ({{Enchantment category}}) with all the specifics of the enchantment and then a template call/transclusion on the enchantment description page ({{Enchantment}}) that will show all the specifics of the enhancements and create all the appropriate "found on" sections. DDOstream (ContribsMessage) 10:08, July 3, 2019 (EDT)
Cru121: I started to add the missing detail to this page, and then realized the discussion probably belongs in a broader article that encompasses Taint of Evil, Taint of Chaos, Alignment damage (weapon), and perhaps others. Hoopy Froodle (ContribsMessage) 10:49, July 19, 2019 (EDT)
      • I have removed this particular merge tag, partly because it had stalled utterly and partly because our standard page format for item enchantments is to have a category for the items and a page to explain what it is they actually do.
