Q. I do not see any way to reach Moghar Hornbane - He is on a platform above the ramp leading down to the dock, but there is no way up to him. If there is a way to reach him, I haven't found it. If he's been moved or made inaccessable recently, then the notation that he gives 30 minute waterbreathing should be taken out.

You will need to have a high Jump skill, i.e.: with a potion, spell, or just well-developed skill. When you exit the Salty Wench tavern, in front of you will be some small, stacked crates. With your high Jump skill, jump onto the crates and then onto the roof of the stall, then onto the stone wall. Turn right, jump onto the roof of the building in front of you and then hop over the apex of the archway. You will see Moghar down below you slightly to the left. This is the easiest and best way to reach Moghar Hornbane. (My cleric, who has -8 Jump skill, did it with a friendly wizard casting Jump spell on me. I did it on the first attempt.)
Note: When you speak to him he says the following: The pirate lords be seein' fit to reward the determined and the cunning.. So the whole exercise to get to him is meant to be a challenge.

Q. On the map, the Rare Encounter Tiefling Assasin is marked in white (all of the other rares are marked in yellow) - what is the signifigance of this? I have visited the site in question several times, and have not stumbled upon him yet. I have hit all of the other rares many times.

He is a rare encounter that before Update 7 did not count as one of the Rare Encounters, the map is a pre Update 7 map. UltraMonk 21:29, November 27, 2010 (EST)

Perhaps we could delete the section Quests; or merge it with Quests to Favor List section. --Cru121 04:58, July 17, 2011 (EDT)

Rare Locations[edit]

Q. Shouldn't we update the map to show the new explorer locations and not the old ones? I have replaced them on the explorers section of the page but we should change it on the map too...lars rifle, buccaneer's walkway and smuggler's area are out. Also scorchtusk rare must have changed location too since his spawn point was in the area that is now barrel's bottom.I'm not sure where he spawns now though— previous unsignedIcon tooltip.pngPlease sign posts using ~~~~ comment by Vaska ( c |d| r| b) at 18:59, June 13, 2014 (UTC)

  • Yes, the map should be updated. — Zav(C·T·E) 18:33, June 13, 2014 (EDT)
  • Cutlass Falls is south of The West Wind's Mistress. The Sea Witch is the ship off of The Crow's Nest. It is the new location of Scorchtusk. --Nightbirdsf (ContributionsMessage) 02:45, August 23, 2014 (EDT)

Q. Where is the Massive Archway located? — previous unsignedIcon tooltip.pngPlease sign posts using ~~~~ comment by 5.71.213.91 (d| r| b) at 21:32, September 18, 2019 (UTC)

  • The Massive Archway is northeast of the Dulse rare, west by northwest of The Black Loch explorer, on the shore. Dougmill (ContributionsMessage) 02:34, November 21, 2014 (EST)
