Templates name[edit]

Any ides for better name? Making own template for every type would be logical but quite uneffective way to do it. PermSpellAmp ain't that bad name except if someone comes up a better one. BlackSmith 06:49, January 17, 2008 (EST)

How about using Spelldamageboost. I think the name better relfects what the bonus actually does. Also we can use the same template for permanent ones and temporary ones.
Dragonstar 08:11, January 17, 2008 (EST)

Yeah, it comes down to the debate of what would be the best name for them. I like Spell Damage Enhancers. How about you guys? I concur, the same template could be used for temp and perm ones. :) Borror0 08:17, January 17, 2008 (EST)
Aye, we could use the same template on both but they have different names and uh actually now as ithink it it would not be that hard thing after all to include the temp ones in to it with charges. I look at the code structure to make it allow temp ones too. Anyone seen other versions than with 3/day? What about Spell Effectiveness Increaser or SEI like in the abilitys description? (Increases the effectiveness of wearer's X spells of level Y by Z %.) BlackSmith 07:44, January 18, 2008 (EST)
i took this name because;
  • its not always damage (i.e. devotion)
  • enhancements in game have something like X amplification.

effectiveness increaser sounds kind of a jargonic for me but um so is spellamp anyway so it works. yoko5000 03:47, January 22, 2008 (EST)

How do we want to deal with the MASSIVE change DDO has done to this system?[edit]

How do we want to deal with this elephant? I need some votes, should we keep a history intact for all of the items changed by this? I don't think it is necessary because all items with some spell amp effect have been automatically and retroactively changed to the new system... In my opinion, it is a very similar situation to us not feeling the need to make a history page for every item because DDO changed base values from gold to plat... However, before I build the new template, and go through the hundreds of items that use this template (Probably with Kobold_sneak (Contribs • Message) and AWB), I would like to give everyone a chance to inject their opinions. Thank you. ShoeMaker (Contributions Message) 11:48, July 5, 2012 (EDT)

I prefer either updating this template or creating a new template called.. wait for it... spellpower... duh.

Also, I wouldn't mind not using template but typing stuff like "Devotion +90". --Cru121 (ContributionsMessage) 12:30, July 5, 2012 (EDT)

That is pretty much what I want to do, but my real question here was what do we want to do about the 'history' part of it... ShoeMaker (Contributions Message) 17:27, July 5, 2012 (EDT)
Ive been using Template:SpellPower by Nibor (Contribs • Message). For Permspellamp Bag it, Tag it, put in WH13. And for the history part, no past or present items have the old system which is currently on every casters mind until U15 then no one will remember what the old system stats were (We are angry Gold Fish) and the wiki History pages can fill in what it was. Or drag the old template to the tips section and write History: Permspellamp:xyz,... we probably forget to do that anyway. Bladedge (ContributionsMessage) 17:53, July 5, 2012 (EDT)

yeah, what Bladeege said. only reason why we have pages like Ascension Chamber loot history is items such as Dex 5 version Vile Blasphemy still exist on the server and sticking on players' inventory. there are some other, Sup Acid lore version Epic Seal of the Earth, different bonus type Epic Brawn's Spirits, all of these are considered "patch rare" items. → yoko5000 (ContributionsMessage) 23:41, July 5, 2012 (EDT)
