Tips and Misc

  • This quest can be very quick XP per minute if you can complete it quickly and get the optionals. Doing so efficiently can be difficult, however, as the quest features MANY random elements: named wights, the location of the runes and chests, and one of the shrines may or may not appear. Therefore, it will require a lot of practice learning where the possible locations are for each.
  • Slay Priest of the Crimson Heart is a very easy optional since you need only kill one, and there are many of these in the quest.
  • There are three shrines in this adventure. One is located directly west, while the other two are behind hidden Secret doors in the northwest and northeast – usually only one will be there in an instance, but rarely both will appear.
  • You need to find 4 runes that are on skulls to open the end of the quest. The runes are very small and can be high or low – keep your eyes open. They spawn randomly throughout the quest. To help keep a careful eye out for these runes; Q (the default key for selecting interactables) is your friend.
    • Hirelings can also be used to successfully interact with the runes; if you focus on the rune, command the Hireling to interact. The Hireling will usually try to reach the rune, which can be useful if you cannot clearly see the path to its location, but have it in focus.
  • Also, there are three locked (require Crimson key) breakable doors that can be broken down, but you'll possibly need someone with Strength of 20 (19:Fail; 20:Success), although a fireball (or thrown weapon) is just as effective, without the need to reach the Strength requirement (U46.2). The doors can also be unlocked by a rogue using Open Lock.
  • The Silver Flame survivors are behind a secret door in the passage to the western shrine room.
  • After defeating the end Boss, clicking on the exit Sarcophagus will move you from the quest instance without any additional confirmation (as with many other quests), which will prevent you from looting the end chests if you did not do so. In this quest the end chests are placed very near to the exit Sarcophagus, so beware of misclicks.
