Category:Consumable tomes

From DDO wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Tomes are a consumable item that apply a permanent bonus to your character's statistics. Tomes exist to boost Ability Scores, Skills, Action Points, Epic Destiny Points and Fate Points. Tomes of Learning are consumed in the same way as other Tomes but provide bonuses to quest XP rather than directly increasing a score or a point total.

Tomes that apply a numerical bonus to a statistic do not stack. If you apply a +3 Tome of Skill and then a +5 Tome of Skill to the same skill, the character will end up with a +5 bonus. Differently tagged Tomes of Universal Enhancement will stack.

Ability Tomes and Tomes of Skill have "upgrade" versions that increase the current bonus by 1. It is usually much cheaper to just buy the desired bonus than to incrementally upgrade.

When a Tome is consumed, the character will play a "reading" animation and a progress bar will appear. When the progress bar is complete the bonus will be applied and the Tome consumed.

There are also Collectible items and quest items that are described as "Tomes". These are not covered in this category.
