Gadgets

Below is a list of special gadgets users can enable on their preferences page, as defined by the definitions. This overview provides easy access to the system message pages that define each gadget's description and code.

User Interface [View source]

codeAnchors (default): Creates anchor points on .js and .css pages that allows for creation of links to certain sections of a script or stylesheet for easy referencing. source (View source | Export)

codeBacklinks (default): .js and .css pages do not automatically create links for things wrapped in [[brackets]] like other pages do. This script adds other useful links as well. source (View source | Export)

exlinks: Open external links in a new tab/window source (View source | Export)

ppIndicators (default): A gadget that will show a die icon next to your username in the pp-toolbar that represents the Page Protection level. source (View source | Export)

Enabled for everyone by default.
listStyles: This script allows many bullet lists to be changed to numbered lists with the click of a link for easy counting. source (View source | Export)

nsShortener (default): Shortens visible links to various namespaces to one letter indications. For example User: becomes U: and User talk: becomes Ut:. source (View source | Export)

removeAccessKeys: Disable access keys. source (View source | Export)

searchFocus (default): Focus the cursor in the search bar on loading the Main Page. source (View source | Export)

SpecialPages: Number of members for each applicable special page on Special:SpecialPages. source (View source | Export)

WatchlistChangesBold: Display pages on your watchlist that have changed since your last visit in bold. source (View source | Export)

Editing Tools [View source]

Edittools (default): Enhance the edittools section (grouping into section with a dropdown menu and converting static links to buttons) source (View source | Export)

HotCat: Ajax category manager gadget from Wikimedia Commons. source (View source | Export)

Appearance [View source]

UTCLiveClock: Add a clock in the personal toolbar that displays the current time in UTC (which also provides a link to purge the current page). (View source | Export)

Administrative Tools [View source]

emailLinks (default): A gadget that will show links to Special:EmailUser for T:User if the user linked has email enabled. source (View source | Export)

ShowMessageNames: Create a toolbox link to show the page with messages from the user interface substituted with their names source (View source | Export)

DeOrphaner: A simple gadget to help find links to pages to be able to de-orphan them. source (View source | Export)

spamBlock: This is a gadget allows any of the administrators to quickly block and delete anything caused by a spambot. source (View source | Export)

unWatch: Watch or unwatch a page with a single click and not be navigated away. source (View source | Export)
