The BarBEARian

Overview:

This build focuses on being able to take a few punches, and then claw whatever caught its attention to death. Keep in mind that watching some pure druid gameplay will give you a good idea of what this build does, with some spell changes and durability differences as well.

This build thrives in Hard or Elite difficulty, and does well in R1-2 in my experience. Keep in mind that there are other druid/barbarian combinations that yield higher dps, but since we are a first life (or first few really) character with no tomes or Past Lives, going Tier 5 in Nature Protector lets us use metal armor and shields, gives us +15% armor class, and Charge (a charge AoE trip). These are all tools that will let the barbearian boost its AC and other attributes to boost our survivability.

There are also numerous combinations of enhancement set-ups, and the one i give below is merely the one I chose: there are both tankier set-ups, and more dps-focused setups (with no changes to the character other than enhancements and maybe weapons).

During combat, I did not use a shield the entire time while levelling through heroics, nor epics. I often played in groups (which I HIGHLY SUGGEST TO NEW PLAYERS), and having someone a specific boss gave me the opportunity to unleash all the dps I could. In these cases, I kept a decent two-handed slashing weapon to maximize dps.

Another thing to note to new players: I suggest levelling through 13 levels of druid first, for one reason: regenerate. This spell costs 40 spell points, and will heal you sufficiently throughout your questing. If you're playing in Normal through Elite, you can spam that heal once you get enough spell points.

Now onto the numbers:

13 Druid 6 Barbearian 1 Fighter Human, True Neutral, Female

Starting Stats: STR: 17 (max this) DEX: 10 CON: 15 INT: 10 WIS: 11 CHA: 8

FEATS:

Combat Stances: Power Attack

Wild Shape Feats: 3 Natural Fighting (and Perfect when it comes out) Wild Shape: Wild Shape: Wild Shape: Dire Wild Shape: Fire Elemental

General Passive Feats: Improved critical: slashing

Shield Feats: Shield Deflection Tower Shield proficiency

Weapon Proficiency Feats Khopesh proficiency

(to be continued at a later date.)

Shield feats do not work in animal form, and elemental forms are useless for a melee fighter, due to their inherent lean towards spellcasting.

I'd recommend going 8 druid, 11 barbarian and, 1 fighter instead.

Also, you should dump those points from intelligence and put them into wisdom instead, you need self-healing and with only an 11 in wisdom you're going to be chocking on your own blood before you get halfway through a fight.
