Leather (material type)

From DDO wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Leather is a material type which is made from the skin of an animal by tanning or a similar process.

It is used in making armor, belts, hoods and similar accessories. Such as the Leather Armor or Studded Leather.

Leather armor is immune to rust monsters' special item damage as they only eat steel or other metal-like materials.

Items made from it have slightly less (generally 3 points) hardness then an equivalent steel item. Similarly, item made of it have significantly less durability then Steel.

Armor made from leather is always Category:Light armor. It won't appear as alternate material types such as Adamantine or Mithral like Steel armor can.
