Tips and Misc

• Holtz has asked for your help to... throw a college party. Not everything has to be about the fate of Eberron.
• Unfortunately, as it emerges, Holtz is pretty terrible at organizing a party. He sends you to speak to Ariana, who tells you to fetch three things: decorations, food and music.
• First up, the College's Bard practice club has a magical lute from the Vance Sattler Foundation. Unfortunately, it turns out the club are also all Barbarians, and they're expecting a spar with a visiting lecturer (who happens to have been beaten senseless by animated pies in the kitchen), so you'll have to fight them before you can clear the misunderstanding up.
  • Club leader Valencia warns you that the Lute should not under any circumstances be played by a non-Bard. Given that all Morgrave now knows that Vance Sattler and Vecna are one and the same, you have to wonder how they've been allowed to hold onto the thing.
• The Artificer class using the Globe of Light panics when you walk in, and sets several Iron Defenders on you before they realise you're not attacking them.
• Finally, you're jumped by animated pies in the Kitchens while fetching the Alchemist's Delight.
• Once you've finished with the compulsory stuff, Ariana suggests you might want to grab extra decorations and party guests before heading back to Holtz and starting the party.
  • There are three banners: one in a hallway and one each in the Artificer and Bard-barian classrooms. You might need to jump on nearby tables to reach them.
  • There are also three groups of bored students: in the room you entered from, in the main courtyard, and in the Artificer class. You'll need to make an easy Diplomacy, Bluff or Intimidate check to get them to come along.
  • There is also a secret door containing a locked chest outside the Artificer classroom.
• Holtz kicks the party off by playing the cursed Lute, accidentally releasing an imprisoned Vrock! Once this is beaten down, speak to Holtz again to finish.
