Happy 8th Anniversary DDO![edit]

From all of us on the team, we are thrilled to be celebrating DDO's 8th anniversary with you, and want to update you on some of our upcoming plans.

We're pleased to say that we are currently putting the final touches on Update 21: Legendary Halls, and getting everything ready for its release on March 10th. We can't wait for you to see our reinterpretation of Ed Greenwood's classic Forgotten Realms module the Haunted Halls of Eveningstar, and we are also really looking forward to adventuring in the huge dwarven ruins of Thunderholme, complete with two new raids - including our first battle against a Shadow Dragon (well, technically she's a Shadow Dracolich, but try telling her that!)

We're also working with the newly-formed Players Council to discuss our plans to expand Three Barrel Cove into the Epic levels in Update 22. Our second update of the year will include new Guild Airships and amenities as well, so be on the lookout for a lot more information on those things in the near future. Our plans for the rest of the year were outlined recently by Rowan in a Producer's Letter in December, and we're still on track for that work as well!

Some of you may already know a bit about me, but I might be a new name for others. I've been a Producer on the DDO Team for the past three years, working behind the scenes to keep the gears turning and trains running on time. I've been playing DDO since the original Stormreach Beta, and have been working in the MMO business for more than a decade (my resume includes work on City of Heroes and Guild Wars as well.) I am also a tabletop D&D and LARP gamer. Expect to be seeing more of me lurking around the boards, reading your feedback, and occasionally answering a question or two!

Cheers! Athena "(former director) Vyvyanne" Peters Franchise Director – Dungeons & Dragons Online
