Talk:Database error

From DDO wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search
Forums: Index > Help desk > Database error

The output message is probably a "false positive" or not that important:

"[...] /index.php Wikimedia\Rdbms\DBQueryError from line 1700 of /yR/sites/ddowiki.com/includes/libs/rdbms/database/Database.php: A database query error has occurred. Did you forget to run your application's database schema updater after upgrading?..."

However, just searching for two consecutive hyphens (--) using the Search, for example typing: -- gives that type of error output.

  • Actually for all it matters: Forum:Help desk isn't showing this thread as a listed topic.
Similar scenario, as to what I mentioned previously (Talk:Heroic XP, 21 May, 2022). Albeit this talk page has become completely absent - from the list - regardless of being: logged in or out. Yesterday, it was visible, but only if: logged out. :-/

  • Again, I'm seeing it right at the top. Maybe it's just an issue if you created the help desk entry? PurpleSerpent (ContribsMessage) 11:57, November 2, 2022 (EDT)
  • It's more likely a database or server-side software fault. It semi-worked yesterday, but I see nothing today. Therefore, it shouldn't be anything to do with the fact I was the original author. Perhaps in a few days when the database is purged again, I will also see it magically reappear...

Dywypi (ContribsMessage) 12:45, November 2, 2022 (EDT)

  • It now seems to have "magically reappeared" for the first time today. What a surprise, like I said prior it is probably something faulty server-side. It's like Déjà vu, concerning our last conversation in May where it only appeared after routine server maintenance. It'd be completely illogical design for it not to appear for the 'topic starter' (when at least when they were "logged in") presuming the user was already confirmed and flagged 'trusted'.
  • I'll maybe keep monitoring to see if it remains visible for a few more days... Either some server maintenance occurred or it was because PurpleSerpent, i.e. a different account replied to the topic.

Dywypi (ContribsMessage) 16:51, November 2, 2022 (EDT)

  • PS: Currently, I can only see "Talk:Database error" listed when logged in whereas if I'm logged out I cannot. ;-)

  • Well, that PURGE didn't persist that long LOL. It has now reverted back to only appearing when I login! Therefore, it required another manual: ?action=purge. Something server-side doesn't appear to be particularly stable regarding the 'Help desk' forum pages. :-/

Dywypi (ContribsMessage) 14:08, November 3, 2022 (EDT)

  • At the moment it looks as though this thread has finally propagated across all the servers. The topic remains visible in both states without further intervention.

Dywypi (ContribsMessage) 14:58, November 4, 2022 (EDT)

  • Thanks, also typing: -> into the Search causes a similar error. Basically any character or digit followed by an open ending hyphen causes it, e.g. left-.
