The randomly-spawning chest[edit]

You sure it doesn't always spawn? I don't think I've ever seen it not spawn SOMEWHERE, either past the secret door with the spiders or just north of the split... LrdSlvrhnd 04:41, December 1, 2011 (EST)

  • Yup I'm 100% sure that it's not always there, 3-4 days ago I ran through that part of the quest maybe 10 times in a row. The first chest in that corridor belongs to Miasma, the next 3 are the spawn locations for the chest we're talking about and the last one is Kisslor's.


And for what I know there could be another 2 spawn locations for the chest: there are 5 levers that open 5 locked alcoves but (so far) the chest spawned for me only in 3 of the alcoves. by Mjoll 05:03, December 1, 2011 (EST)
  • There *are* several locations... it'll spawn either in the spider area or the two just before the split, with the other two locked alcoves - I've gotten it there several times. I can't recall it ever *not* spawning in one of those two spots... LrdSlvrhnd 05:13, December 1, 2011 (EST)
  • I'll update the map in a bit, I found that second spot you mentioned, right before the big split. It took 15 more runs to find it because 14 out of 15 times the chest spawned in the spider area. by Mjoll 11:58, December 1, 2011 (EST)

Conquest?[edit]

Is it possible to get conquest. I've run this several times on Reaper and usually get 69 of the 71 kills.

There are two dogs behind gates near the entry to the east branch, but I've never seen the gates open. The kobold sentry in the west branch seems eager to ring his gong, but the one to the east would prefer to charge me (& die).

  • That Kobold Sentry will open the gates to the dogs and will release them; if you allow him enough time, etc. Albeit mostly; he'll get killed first or go "brain dead" with the AI, and completely forget.
It was a few years before I saw him do that when I was on a Class I rarely ever play. I'm an Assassin player, so he'd be dead before he noticed me, so I just therefore wrongly assumed those caged dogs were simply decoration for years... The other Sentry will ring his bell more reliably and summon an "ambush" if he doesn't also bug.
It might be still possible to damage those Dogs even if the Kobold forgets to ring the gong and "release the two beasts". I remember from some years ago, the Rogue Mechanic enhancements 'Alchemical Trap' line AoE could damage them through the bars. Therefore it's likely other such spell-like AoE or certain auras could damage those caged dogs.
