Talk:Redirect problems

Sorry, I'm used to MediaWiki, so I may be missing something... Why don't redirects appear to work properly? If I search for, say, "Bag" (should redirect to "Bags") the redirection target doesn't even appear in the search results. The "Bag" redirect page only appears if I scroll to the bottom and check "Show Redirects", and then only for that one search--an inexperienced user wouldn't know to do that. This makes it very difficult to find what I'm looking for.

Yea, that's strange. It mostly works, it does show the correct content when going to the redirect page. It just doesn't actually change the URI. The problem does seem to be mostly with search. The search on this wiki has many other problems anyway, so I'm not going to look too much into this right now. I will be replacing the search feature on the wiki soon with something better (likely something based on Lucene)

OK, the wiki is now using a new and improved search :)

Can you please put a little more info on what the code would be to redirect a page for myself and future members. All I have found on the search was Template:Server redirect.

Code is #REDIRECT [[name of the page you want to send to]] - the all caps is important

You can also view redirect pages by visiting them..EG: Go to Bag - Which will send you to the redirect location, but then on the upper right you'll see "redirected from Bag". Click Bag, and it will send you to the actual redirect page which you can then edit and view the code, or update it.
