Tips and Misc

• This quest is pretty much a linear series of fights against Hidden Hand cultists, with two optional paths to short minibosses.
• First, head into the Hand's Redoubt and slay it. A nearby lever will unlock, opening the first door.
• The next room has two levers – one unlocks the main path, the other leads to friendly Bladeforged Nail. Speaking to Nail will open the door to the Hidden Hand Master Tamer optional.
• Now head into the Eye's Redoubt and repeat the process. In the next room, one of the two levers opens a gate to vampire Larren Denkar, who will help you against the Grand Necromancer.
  • One of the four secret chests containing Dust of Vile Darkness is in this quest, behind a stack of breakable barrels on the southern wall of the Eye's Redoubt. Note that a character must have Steps' Lenses of Seein' Hidden Hand Secrets equipped to loot the chest. This chest drops heroic and legendary Black dust.
• When you head into the Heart's Redoubt, he will raise a magical barrier and resummon the Hand and Eye at 60% health. When both are slain, search for and open a nearby secret door, climb up the passage, and slay the Heart of Vecna – be aware that on Legendary, when he reaches half health, he will bring the Hand and Eye back at 30% health for one final crack at you! Finally, read the missive from Vecna on the nearby Important-Looking Desk to conclude the quest.
