  • To be honest I'm fairly out of touch with the game and all of the changes, so I have no idea. Smile Do what you think looks good and is functional and as I become more in touch with the game again, I can always adjust or improve it later. If you stumble on coding or need an extension to make something work (I'm considering the Scribunto extension which will allow us to write short programs in Lua (which I do not know anything about at the moment other than it is a cross between template coding and a "regular" programming language)), let me know and I'll do what I can to make it happen. Quests experiment[edit]

  • I'm working part-time on a dpl query that, while unfinished, could possibly be useful to you to get a collective and (hopefully) comprehensive view of parameters you're working on, like bestower and the XP array.
In a few days, after I've collected my thoughts in a coherent way, I might propose a couple of adjustments to Template:Quest (that I don't feel proficient enough to make myself).

  • There is a lot to DPL and I haven't had a chance to look it over yet so I can understand exactly what it does, but I'm thinking it might be the way to go to do what I want. We have multiple pages that could make use of this information and even the quest pages themselves are poorly using information that ends up needing to be entered multiple times. Green Steel Project[edit]

Hello!

I understand the reasoning for the reluctance in granting said permissions etc, I just thought it would be an easy win for you/me, perhaps some re-consideration once you see the amount of pages that need permissions amended on a temporary basis (have a look on my Links page for the list of green steel links).

I think I might need some assistance in terms of you also tracking a location for my requests from you on this project due to its sprawling nature, initially I want to ignore it and leave it all be but its hugely all wrong in its nature of being easy to understand for novices (although I am not a novice I am able to use some initiative and view it all with an objective nature) so far I have found 12 pages that need to fit within the page flow chart I have planned (See my current projects page) and will need their permission levels lowered so that I can begin work.

I should also say that i fully intend to backup every page separately here as this will involve multiple requests on a continual basis in order to get this looking how I picture it which is here on my Current Projects page.

Feedback on this one is welcome - to me its quite a large undertaking but one I'm quite enjoying so far, what else can/should I have to do here with this one in comparison with other crafting process's etc? → Agonshar (Contributions • Message) 14:59, May 5, 2014 (EDT)

  • I went through your User:Agonshar/Links#Green Steel Links and notice that you are using external links instead of internal links, you may want to fix that up unless there is a specific reason for the external links. Also, I don't see any protection on any of those pages that you shouldn't be able to edit through or would require the admin bit. Please give me a list of protected pages here that you will need to edit and I'll reply to each item in the list as protection reduced or sandbox changes. :) Happy editing! 15:25, May 5, 2014 (EDT)

Tabs[edit]

Hey Tech,

Man, can you get me out of the dilemma that is my tabs please mate ? - you managed to sort them out last time now I have extra tabs and tabs missing and all sorts lol..

  • Very accurate answer JJMC89, thank you. I did just as you said and then repeated on each page - looks like this process needs to be updated on the Template:UserTabs page that Ague wrote.

The next obstacle (and last also) is that I did the same on my Agonshar page (as you can see on my Template:AgonsharTabs page this is Tab number 7) - but when clicking the tab link it takes me to my General use home page.

Solved:

  • Found a numerical listing error on my Template:AgonsharTabs page - this initially caused a highlighting error.
  • Remember that a user talk page is different in its URL to other pages, simply copy/paste the right URL into my Template:AgonsharTabs page - fixed.
  • I'll add this to my ToDo page of things.

Maps[edit]

Hello Tech,

This is about Maps Guide but not what you might think - I observed the undo of page name changes/redirects by me - I'm ok with that and think its better left as it is so that firstly I don't get tied up in more discussion and secondly users can carry using the existing system of pages; I just worked around it and implemented my new page using the existing pages anyway - works better for me and less red tape. That ones all ok, no issues. And actually thank you! (because I now know to set-up a discussion on a pages talk page if that's something I wish to put in place in the future, duly noted and will observe from now on)

So back on topic now - where does the following intro belong in your opinion, it finished up the Maps Guide page and intro text to the Maps Legend page too:

  • Yeah, I was on my mobile and can't really post too well from there. The problem with starting pages with Maps: is a technical one that you would need to read a bunch of pages on mediawiki.org to understand. I don't expect that of you at this point (and there actually may be some details on it on Help:Namespace). I really am not too worried about what is on those pages until people start complaining that they are confusing. Then, I'll worry and rework them. In the mean time, I'm wondering if some of the material is redundant to DDO wiki:Image policy? I'll help where I can, but I'm stupid busy with real life and a slew of my own projects, so my help may be slow coming and may require you to be crystal clear in your questions and keeping them as short as possible to do so. Thanks for your hard work, and remember that if (when) I disagree with something you are changing or working on, it's nothing personal and I'm open to discussion to understand what you are trying to do and will try to find a way to do that and address my concerns (which are usually of a technical nature) as well. Items that need updating to SpellPower[edit]

When you get a chance, can you find out why all Neck items and‎ Trinket items are getting dump into Category:Items_that_need_updating_to_SpellPower. My solution would be nuking all the deprecated Template:Permspellamp or Template:Tempspellamp, then burning down every abandon town and village follow by killing any kobolds. How do you have your archive page setup so that you have years displayed in a table with bi-annual sections too ?

I tried to find the template or category for it but found nothing.

I officially give up with the archive pages.

I was intending it to work on my Archives page but then after 10 minutes rethought that idea and saw the wisdom of Technicals user_talk page holding the archives at the same time, I attempted a move but got really mixed up, (hopefully) someone can rectify this and show me where I went wrong exactly - as I do learn fro mistakes lol (luckily)

What Template or Category is the one to edit to amend the Maps page - specifically the WIlderness Adventure Areas - I have looked around but can't find anything.

When I go to C:Maps of Wilderness Adventure Areas and C:City zones and use edit they just show even more templates and it takes me round in a big circle back to the Maps page - quite amused actually lol.
