Might be handy and be combined with searches for boxes too, because i've seen rogues fail on searches and have had it myself too. More often do i need to equipt an item for searching then for disabling. Neouni 08:27, December 11, 2010 (EST)

If you have a modified roll of 40 on hard and succeed,

normal can't be higher then 40 but can be lower so ?-40 applies

if you have veried range on normal,

hard can't be lower then that range but can be equal (usually in case of locks)

Locks can be equal on all difficulties,

when this is the case it usually applies to a pickable lock that will bypass a key gained from the quest

It does indeed have it's own DCs. Also Epic sometimes scales lock DCs, while normal-elite lock DCs do not scale. --Shade 01:28, September 18, 2011 (EDT)

Lock DCs don't seem to scale from normal-elite[edit]

Confirming that every lock i've tested was the same DC on normal as on elite so far.. True for all older content, may not be true for some of the newer content but I think it is.. All the data i've reviewed on our project agrees with it so far.. Let's try to confirm a few more, then remove the hard/elite sections to clean up the project if we can double agree/confirm this. However epic ones sometimes do (VoN1 tower door =DC90 on epic, not sure on normal, but 30-40ish as i've knocked it) while VoN5 locked doors do not scale (always knockable), but epic got it's own section anywys, so thats ok. --Shade 01:32, September 18, 2011 (EDT)

Update 14[edit]

There are reports on forum about some traps in khortos elite having much higher DCs than they had before the update, to the point of a Vet II Artificer blowing up some boxes. I would hate to restart the entire trap DC project from zero, so, if everyone can help testing the already known DCs to see if they changed, or if this is affecting Normal/Hard, please, do it. Confirming DCs[edit]

I suspect an update to the game has changed the DCs for traps and locks. For example, the confirmed value for the trap in the Grotto is wrong (I failed on a 6). Therefore, I want to work on an update to this page. I'd start by finding the exact DC's on all of the level 1 quests. However, I don't want to step on anyone's toes so how should I go about applying these edits? Should I just post the data I get under the trap description as suggested on this page or should I edit the table itself to represent the DCs I find? It may be that some quests have had their DC updated. I'm thinking that all of that information should be on the quest pages themselves. I'm planning on incorporating it into the quest template itself. :) ShoeMaker (Contribs • Message • Email) 21:27, April 19, 2017 (EDT)
